Whispers from the Strawdog

Whispers From The Strawdog is an interactive branching narrative experience that is presented as a puppet theater depicting the Japanese occupation of East Asia. Whispers of guilt find their way into an interactive marionette theater.

Whispers from the Strawdog is a project that was created in a class where classmates were paired up and tasked to work through the game development pipeline for fifteen weeks. For this, we decided to continue the themes from our previous collaboration with Strawdog 1.0. The goal was to create a game that captures and translate elements lacking in games that we enjoyed from other mediums. With an understanding that interactivity and player agency are unique aspects of games, we decided to make a game commenting on this agency.
