USC Games Expo 2018 presented by Jam City on May 9
On May 9th from 4pm-9:30pm, USC Games comes together with students from across the campus to show off the hard work of teams and individuals across our school, programs, and community. Hosted by Jam City, this year looks to be one of the best showcases yet with innovative projects and games showcased under one roof at the Cinematic Arts Complex.
USC Games Expo is an exhibition of the years’ best, most innovative games and interactive projects from across campus, showcased under one roof. For the first time, in 2018, thanks to the support of marquee sponsor Jam City, the event has expanded to beyond current students, and includes alumni, faculty, and other strategic partners. The core of the event is the culmination of a collaborative effort between the School of Cinematic Arts’ Interactive Media & Games Division and the Viterbi School of Engineering’s Department of Computer Science, with participating students from SCA’s Animation, Writing, MA+P, Cinema & Media Studies, and Production divisions, as well as students from across USC’s campus. Join us for cocktails, snacks, and most importantly, games developed by students, alumni, and more!
Some of the games included are the ADVANCED GAME PROJECTS, or AGPs, from the 2017-2018 school year. After a rigorous pitch process during the Spring Semester, wherein small teams pitch projects that are either original, or developed out of the other USC Games curriculum, our selection committee (comprised of faculty from across the campus, as well as industry veterans) chooses the 5-7 games that will advance.
Check back for more information as we make announcements regarding the various projects on display and be sure to RSVP for the event here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/usc-games-expo-2018-presented-by-jam-city-tickets-45114674205!

ABOUT THE VITERBI SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING
Engineering Studies began at the University of Southern California in 1905. Nearly a century later, the Viterbi School of Engineering received a naming gift in 2004 from alumnus Andrew J. Viterbi, inventor of the Viterbi algorithm that is now key to cell phone technology and numerous data applications. One of the school’s guiding principles is engineering +, a term coined by current Dean Yannis C. Yortsos, to use the power of engineering to address the world’s greatest challenges. USC Viterbi is ranked among the top graduate programs in the world and enrolls more than 6,500 undergraduate and graduate students taught by 185 tenured and tenure-track faculty, with 73 endowed chairs and professorships.
